Ask Yourself Assignment (at least 300 words):

a) Watch the 2 YouTube videos: 5 Psychology Experiments You Couldn’t Do Today, & Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment Explained. Choose one unethical experiment, and using another online resource (i.e. Wikipedia is okay), briefly summarize what happened in the experiment, and why it was unethical.

b)  Then, briefly explain what policy was created over the years to address the ethical violation of the experiment to ensure that this kind of violation does not happen for future experiments.  You may also use Wikipedia as a source for this (this would be summarized under headings such as “aftermath”  or “ethical implications”).

What kinds of traits (physical, personality occupational pursuits) did you acquire from your parents? How are you different from your parents? Watch Video #1 and Video #2, which are movie clips from the movie, Focus (starring Will Smith and Margot Robbie). Please be aware that explicit language is used. From video 1, describe the general scene, including the following information:

a) the gambling bet, and b) whether the woman was able to guess the correct number. 

From video 2, explain how the psychological concept of priming was used to set up the trick.

Define how implicit bias in medicine contributes to medical/obstetric violence, including who this disproportionately affects, the history behind this, and some ways in which people could protect themselves if they encounter medical/obstetric violence. Use other reputable online resources as references for this assignment, and make sure you cite accordingly.
